How to Use the González Center’s Website

The easiest way to find a resource is to search. For example, in the search window you might enter a particular Bible text (book and chapter). The results will appear on your screen, and you can double click on the title of any item.
To help you locate materials, we have created an “index” of alternate terms under which a document might be searched. For example, one Christian tradition might refer to the “Lord’s Supper” while another to the “Eucharist.” If you type in a search term and no results appear, look at the index below for help in finding a different search term.

Once you are on a page of results, if you click on the title of a document, you will be able to see information unique to that document, including a very brief statement about the document, a thumbnail of the document so that you can see what it is about, and a link listed under “download file” to the full text.
Once you are looking at a specific item, near the bottom of the screen, you will also see a list of “tags” associated with that title. If you click on one of the “tags,” you will see a results page that lists all other documents that have the same “tag.” If the tags are in English, the document is in English. If the tags are in Spanish, the document is in Spanish. The only exception is that Bible references will always appear in both languages (Lucas 12 Luke 12) You can then proceed as described above by clicking on a document’s title.
A second option is to “browse by item.” In this case, the items are randomly listed. You will see the tags related to each title listed as well. These tags function in the same manner as detailed above.
A final option is to “browse by collection.” Similar resources have been grouped into collections for easy searching. Currently, most of our collections include weekly Bible lessons–the teacher version--covering three months and published either in Lecciones Cristianas or in El Discípulo. If you click on a collection, the results page will include all thirteen lessons for that quarter.
At any point, you may return to the home page by clicking “home” in the navigation bar. You can go back one screen by using your search engine’s back arrow.

La mejor manera de familiarizarse con el sitio web es hacer búsquedas. Por ejemplo, en la ventana de búsquedas se puede escribir una referencia bíblica (nombre del libro y capítulo). Los resultados aparecerán en su pantalla, y puede usted pulsar dos veces en el título de cualquiera de los materiales que resulten de su búsqueda.
Para ayudarle en su búsqueda de materiales sobre temas particulares, hemos creado un brevísimo “Índice” de algunos temas que pueden estar bajo diferentes etiquetas. Por ejemplo, unas tradiciones cristianas se refieren a la comunión como la “Santa Cena”, y otras como la “Eucaristía”. El siguiente Índice puede ayudarle a emplear etiquetas diferentes bajo las cuales buscar acerca del mismo tema.

Al pulsar en el título de cualquiera de los documentos que resulten de su lista, podrá ver información específica acerca de ese documento. Esto incluye unas pocas palabras acerca del documento, una breve indicación de su tema, y un enlace donde “bajar el archivo” del texto completo.
Cuando tenga usted delante de sí un material específico, verá en la parte inferior de la pantalla una lista de “etiquetas” relacionadas con ese título. Si pulsa usted en una de ellas, verá una nueva página con un listado de todos los documentos que llevan la misma etiqueta. Si las etiquetas están en inglés, el documento estará en inglés. Si están en español, el documento estará en español. La única excepción es que las referencias bíblicas aparecerán siempre en ambos idiomas (Lucas 12 Luke 12). Entonces seguir el proceso indicado más arriba pulsando en el título de cualquiera de los documentos.
Otra opción es “navegar por los elementos”. En este caso, los documentos aparecerán sin orden definido. Usted verá también las etiquetas de cada título, y esas etiquetas funcionarán como ya se ha explicado.
Una tercera opción es “navegar por las colecciones”. Los documentos semejantes han sido agrupados en la base de datos para que sea fácil encontrarlos. Al presente, la mayoría de las colecciones son series de lecciones bíblicas (material para el maestro o maestra) para un trimestre publicadas o bien el Lecciones cristianas o en El discípulo. Si pulsa usted en alguna colección, el resultado será la serie completa de 13 lecciones para un trimestre.
En cualquier momento en el proceso puede usted volver a la página inicial pulsando en “casa” en la barra de navegación. También puedes retroceder a la última pantalla en que estuvo mediante la flecha que apunta hacia la izquierda.
